AlexanderGorlizki

Gorlizki weaves together irony and humour, blending aspects of the subconscious into his unmistakable pictorial language. His works are mythical and banal, mysterious yet simultaneously self-evident.

Following Joseph Albers’ dictum that ‘one plus one equals three,’Gorlizki merges together apparently contrasting, culturally different elements to create another entity greater than the sum of its parts.

He collaborates with Indian miniaturist painter Riyaz Uddin to produce humorous fusions of Western cultural iconography and this important Eastern painterly tradition.

Gorlizki has exhibited widely and enjoys a growing reputation. He was recently featured in August issue of San Francisco Chronicle describing his works exhibited at John Berggruen Gallery, San Francisco, CA. Born in the UK, Alexander now lives in New York.
