Hi Laura, tell us a little bit about yourself….

Spring is finally here! Now the weather is getting friendlier, are there any events, gigs or happenings you think we should get out to see?

I’ve just started going to a salsa class on a Thursday night at Nancy’s Bordello, which is so much fun but you do get thrown in at the deep end so confidence is key!

A big part of volunteering on the Vinvolved programme is about getting to know your local community, and getting involved with the people and places you find there. Tell us about some of the V @ globe initiatives and projects that have been inspired by this aim

Just before Christmas we did a new blind project at north shields which could be seen by everyone passing by. The display was very quirky and colourful and lit up every evening in hope that it would attract peoples attention who weren’t necessarily ’arty’ or just cheer them up as they passed by.

How long have you been a v volunteer?

nearly 6 months… doesn’t feel that long though!

What other types of v volunteer activities have you been involved in so far?

Absolutely everything that’s needed to be done, from painting walls to planning exhibitions and from making art pieces to making coffee!!!

We would love to know what your passions and interests are…

Fashion, photography, nature, dance, new places.

And finally, what are your plans for the future?

Erm still trying to figure that one out for myself.

Thanks Laura, its been lovely chatting with you.
