Miranda Whall is currently based in Wales as a fine arts lecturer for the University of Aberystwyth. She has, however, been heavily involved in arts projects for Arts Council England, the North-East, and BALTIC in the past; in 2006 she programmed and managed FLASH 06, a networking event for photographers in the North East.

Miranda works with a broad range of media from video and photography to drawings and animation to explore the representation of both her body her experiences. Depicting herself alongside inanimate objects or living creatures in imagined and unlikely contexts, she ignores the boundaries that exist between her and the things with which she coexists. Her work, which is often personal and explicit in nature, results in humourous and uncanny relationships which prompt discussion about the appropriate place for the personal dimensions of oneself.
