From grime to glamour

Renovation is in full swing on all floors of the gallery. To create a welcoming environment for disabled guests the once gloomy basement entrance has been cleaned up, the walls painted white, and the floor in non-slip grey.

Chalking it up to teamwork!

Volunteers Maddy and Hannah coming up with ideas.

We have continued renovating the volunteer space. A blackboard has been added to the first floor giving volunteers a space to map out ideas.

Work starts on our new gallery in Blandford Square

Globe starts work on new gallery space in Newcastle City Centre

We are moving back into Newcastle City Centre, creating a major new arts venue with community at its core.
Globe's staff and team of extremely enthusiastic volunteers began stripping out the ex-Coop Bank in Blandford Square last week.  But this is just the start and we welcome anyone able to help us achieve this ambitious plan to contact us.

Blandford Square

We've started looking at how best to utilise the new building in Blandford Square.  Plans so far look great!

Neil Wilson Design have kindly offered their expertise to create spaces that really encapsulate Globe's integrated approach to contemporary art.  It's all really exciting...
