A fundraising exhibition by Nick Banks and Lady Kitt
We are currently preparing to move to a new home and invite you to join us for an evening, Hollywood style. Dress for the red carpet, and snap up your favourite Hollywood celebrity.
This final show in our current venue showcases the work of Nick Banks and Lady Kitt, featuring portraits of Hedy Lamarr, Challa Man, Michael Caine, Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn and many more. Both artists have generously donated work to help with Globe’s fundraising activities with the Red Carpet event being the first stage of our fundraising for Floor 7.
The Evening will see the launch of our crowdfunder appeal. We want to raise £10,000 to create a new home for Globe Gallery - a community space for everyone to enjoy and participate in our artistic programme. As the gallery approaches its 25th year, Floor 7 will give Globe a more flexible space to continue our work and develop a workshop, project, event and exhibition space in Newcastle. Providing a comfortable and inclusive space for everyone.
We will be offering visitors the opportunity to have a sneak peak of our new home with a guided tour on the evening.
Globe has survived the ups and downs of an ever more difficult funding landscape and our survival over the last 4 years in particular could not have been achieved without the dedication of an amazing pool of volunteers and the help and support of many, we would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to White Box (Paul Stone, JP and Chris Yeates) for unwavering support, Locus+ (Jon Bewley and Jonty Tarbuck who have made this move possible, all of the individuals who have dedicated time and expertise, you know who you are, and of course our current team, Cheryl Baty, Marty Clement, David Houghton, Ola Kozlova, Lorna Parker, Laura Cowling, Sergio Morogo, Andrew Hardy, Catherine Boland, Anya Bramich, Colin Davison, Joanne Walker, Lucy Duprez, Maria Vafeiadi.
We would also like to say a big thankyou to our new sponsors The Simpson Group who have kindly produced all of the printing for our fundraising rewards.
