Overview
‘Memories Carried’ was a powerful initiative by Iraqi photographer and filmmaker Yamam Nabeel, showcasing the work of over 20 international photographers and activists from Palestine, the wider Arab world, Latin America, the UK, and Europe.
Presented in partnership with Art Forward and Amnesty International UK, the exhibition was dedicated to fundraising for charities working in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT) and Lebanon, responding to urgent humanitarian needs.
A central feature of the exhibition was The Wall of Hope, a participatory project that invited members of the public to share messages of solidarity. These contributions formed a growing digital archive, reinforcing the exhibition’s commitment to supporting underrepresented voices through art, advocacy, and community engagement.
The exhibition ran on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th January 2025
Curatorial staff from Art Forward were present at the opening and throughout the following two days to support the exhibition.
