Globe Gallery is currently hosting internationally renowned artist brothers Christoph and Sebastian Mügge for Mourning Tea Tyne & Lost Frequencies, a site specific installation exploring the imagined home and archive of a fictional person who has died.

Based in Malmö, Sweden, the pair have exhibited extensively across Europe and internationally, creating immersive installations that draw on local histories, found objects, archives and community participation to explore themes of memory, loss, belonging and the traces people leave behind.

Using domestic objects, forgotten collections, old photographs, handwritten notes, souvenirs and everyday clutter, the exhibition transforms Globe Gallery into a richly layered environment reflecting on memory, grief, dementia and what remains after someone is gone. It gently explores how memories can fade, shift and fragment over time, while considering the emotional significance of the ordinary objects we keep after loss.

The installation has been shaped by contributions from the North Shields community, who were invited to share personal objects, memories and stories during the artists' residency. These contributions have become an integral part of the exhibition, creating a unique dialogue between local histories and the artists' practice.

Christoph and Sebastian Mügge's work has been presented in galleries, museums and biennials across Germany, the Netherlands, South Korea, France, Sweden and the United Kingdom. Recent exhibitions include Traumatic Trash Pizza in Brescia, Italy (2025), Lost Library Legends at Copenhagen's historic Round Tower (2024), Circular Faroe Tales at the Nordic House in the Faroe Islands (2024), and the internationally recognised Rauma Triennale in Finland.
